Chakli recipe


1 cup rice flour (chawal ka atta)

½ cup besan (gram flour)

2.5 tablespoon oil or softened butter

⅔ to ¾ cup water – add as required

¼ teaspoon turmeric powder (haldi)

½ teaspoon ajwain (carom seeds)

½ teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)

1 teaspoon red chili powder or add as required (lal mirch powder)

a generous pinch of asafoetida (hing) – optional

1 tablespoon sesame seeds – white or black (safed til or kala til)

oil for deep frying

salt as required
